One year mark 10/20/14

Hello Family!!!

It was good to hear from you all! I hope everything is going well.

This week the weather FINALLY started to cool down! I love being able to use sweaters again.

I also finished a whole year in my mission! Can you believe that? I sure can`t but we`re going with it. Now that I have made it to this point my mind has started thinking it needs to speak English. Maybe because I`m helping my companion learn but every once in a while, talking in Spanish, an English word escapes. The other day it happened while talking to someone in the street! I was a little embarrassed but, hey, what do you do.

This week my companion and I were studying about the Plan of Salvation. I love that theme because it covers so much. I found a scripture that I really love:
Mosiah 4
I say unto you, if ye have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world, that thereby salvation might come to him that should put his trust in the Lord, and should be diligent in keeping his commandments, and continue in the faith even unto the end of his life, I mean the life of the mortal body—

I say, that this is the man who receiveth salvation, through the atonement which was prepared from the foundation of the world for all mankind, which ever were since the fall of Adam, or who are, or who ever shall be, even unto the end of the world.

And this is the means whereby salvation cometh. And there is none other salvation save this which hath been spoken of; neither are there any conditions whereby man can be saved except the conditions which I have told you.

It is through the Atonement that we are saved. Our diligence in obeying what He asks of us and our faith in His name.

Today my President wrote us about joy. He said that  joy is a condition of great happiness that comes from living righteously. I love that. We are to have joy in this life and I know that the only way that that is possible is if we trust in the Lord. If we can have faith that the Atonement can work in our lives. I know it can and I know it does. I am so grateful for the Atonement! It is the only way that I can be saved and the only way you can be saved. What a great blessing!

I hope you all make this week a great one!

Con muchìsimo amor y un abrazo de oso

Hermana Chapman
